James McGlaughlin joined McNair International in September 2022. James qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2012. He trained and worked for nine years at the leading UK law firm Farrer & Co LLP, where he gained extensive experience acting in a range of matters for a global client base. He was listed in the ePrivate Client ‘Top 35 under 35’ in August 2019. Thereafter, James worked as an Associate in the International Arbitration Team of the international law firm, Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP (primarily based out of the firm’s Mexico City office), specialising in Investment Treaty Disputes.  To complement his international investment law and arbitration practice, James has participated at the UNCITRAL Working Group III sessions concerning reforms to Investor-State Dispute Settlement in a consultancy capacity on behalf of the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), undertaken a Visiting Researcher position at the University of Copenhagen’s Centre for International Law and Governance, and contributed to the ICSID Reports.
